ah! swooooon! i'm personally digging on the navy (second row 2& 3) and the green and purple on the bottome left there. I also really like the bottom right corner's monochromatic scheme but not so much in that tealish color.
in chromophilia class we talked about red as the color of hunger and consumption, as used by mcdonalds, burger king, albertsons, safeway, trader joes, etc
well... it looks like I am the only one attached to the original, the red one with a less chubby typeface and the line around the edge. it has an old-timey functional quality. perhaps a donut store or tool shop! a sort of just the facts logo.
I'm also really into the original red and the idea that George brought up is interesting (hunger, consumption). Also sort of digging the white with navy type. What about white with red?
it might make sense to have a color choice, and one that looks good in black and white choice, in case we want to do some xeroxing, b/w prints, or that sort of thing. I'm digging the red.
side note: we were going to do a red tshirt for our wonderland project in the tenderloin but it got shot down because of its gang-relatedness... i don't think this would apply to alameda tho, right? colors can be so loaded sometimes eh?

ReplyDeleteLove that green and purple! Navy also works.

ReplyDeleteit may be more cost-effective to use one color in the logo, especially if we're going to be silkscreeing it.

what do you think of the original vs. new design, regardless of color?
