Here is one thought. In the interest of time and availability of materials, i thought we could tape newspapers (or shopping inserts) to the front window and simply paint the sign/announcement. I have some leftover house paints from last year. Obviously the font and message is just to give an idea.
Thoughts? Other ideas?

great idea.
ReplyDeleteWe are going with it for Sunday's poster hang in Alameda. I will purchase the stencils and drop them off at CCA tomorrow. Have a group paint in the Hooper courtyard!!!
As best you can, all of you should coordinate to pass around the stencils and paint some of the newspaper posters before our Sunday.
Sounds great. I just forwarded the design to the property manager with possible texts. All of this is subject to approval, so work with variations of:
ReplyDelete"Coming Soon-- Super Pop-Up Shop"
"Watch What Pops Up-- November"
"Watch This Space-- November"
"Super Pop Up Shop-- November 2009"
or
If you have other ideas, let me know asap.

YUS!
ReplyDeleteok, so tomorrow is when we're doing this up? i should be in studio land round 12, so i'll look for yall.
if stencils are in the mix, i have some pretty sweet metallic spray paint. we can also use the craft paper rolls in the studios, which might be easier to tile, although newspaper sounds spiffy too.-sofia
that sounds great sofia.
ReplyDeletethe stencils are in jay's studio. either craft or newspaper sound good! see what you think. the craft paper may be more legible... metallic paint is always scrumptious.
importantly, it should appear "professional DIY."
umm, interpret that. ?!
